• Festival de la bâtie (end of August, beginning of September - two weeks): traditional festival of modern music, theatre and dance

Movie Theatres

 

• 2 for 1 Cineday for Salt Mobile customers: If you are a Salt Mobile customer, team up and go watch a movie with a pal. On Tuesdays you can get two tickets for the price of one at all Pathe theatres!

• Grütli (16, rue Général-dufour): www.grutli.ch Student price of CHF 10, good selection of old films and a continious stream of film festivals such as the blackmovie festival (www.blackmovie.ch ) in February and the “Festival des films de l’Amérique du sud” in November, and the “Tout écran” in October/November

• Cinélux (8, bd de Saint-George): Very small, shows films that aren’t shown anywhere else

• Les Scala (23, rue des Eaux-Vives): www.les-scala.ch Good independent movie theatre in nice area with little stores and cafés

• Spoutnik (in usine): www.usine.ch Students pay CHF 8, cool atmosphere; films are sometimes somewhat experimental
